Whoever did it did it just to troll and have fun at other's expenses, or to take revenge for whatever reasons. What I don't get is how he acquired those two domain names, because apparently they're $29 USD each. The sucky part would be if it's a troll with too much free time but with a big amount of income (eg living at his parents while being on social security, or parents being extremely rich or the person itself being rich)

Same. The community was host of various pranks in the past too. Although Hays at first were nasty due to piracy, they later mellowed down into a satire or troll group and were actually entertaining sometimes. PsychoCorp was also another example (it was like The Onion but with calc news)
