Title: Recent site updates
Post by: Dream of Omnimaga on November 10, 2015, 07:48:25 AM
Although most were minor, there were quite a few site updates recently, some including changes:

-The comic and TV shows sub-forum has been renamed to Media Talk. The Gaming and Walkthrough board was also renamed to Gaming, as it confused some people.

-The forum rules were updated with IRC-specific rules to clarify our bots policy, following the recent addition of new IRC channels. Forum rule #10 was also added: https://codewalr.us/36

-The Microcat console project sub-forum now features its own theme to fit the project's official website colors: https://codewalr.us/index.php?board=40.0

-Sorcery of Uvutu got its own sub-forum at https://codewalr.us/index.php?board=42.0 . Congrats @123outerme for it. (https://codewalr.us/img/uvutuicon.png)

-We are now affiliated with BosaikNet, a Minecraft and Unreal Tournament 2004 server and community, which @CVSoft helps running: (https://codewalr.us/img/bosaiknet_88x31_2.png) (http://www.bosaik.net/). As a result, each site now links to each others via a 88x31 button. :walrii:

Thank you so much DJ, and thanks to the rest of the mods as well! I'll be sure to post more in it when I get to a computer.

Grats outerme :)

Also cool that we're affiliated with a server community :). Too bad the minecraft server is vanilla :/

Well, running a modded Minecraft server strongly limits the audience. As a smaller server, appealing to the masses is the best way to go.

There is always the CW server if it ever comes up. It could probably be modded, while BosaikNet would be vanilla. Now what would be cool is an UTGOTY server. :P

Yay, also we could just play on their server (I am fine with vanilla ;))

i wouldn't neccesarily say that. Minecraft vanilla gets quickly boring :/

It depends on what you do (I do allot of redstone and I am not yet bored) but game-play does get boring over time <_<

I only play Minecraft 1x per week - together with a friend. We only do PVP like Bedwars and stuff... I guess there are better ways to spend your time than to build epic castle's in Survival Vanilla :P

News announcement on BosaikNet's forums (http://forums.bosaik.net/viewtopic.php?p=54#p54)!

I saw alexgt on BosaikCraft today :D. Hopefully it isn't too hard to get out of spawn now, I added a warp to go directly out of spawn, added a sign in the elevator to indicate which floor is at ground level, and highlighted the path that leaves spawn from ground level exiting the spawn building. The spawn region is really, really big, and should be quite interesting to explore. There's countless easter eggs in it too.

While I would prefer for discussion immediately concerning the Minecraft server to be on BosaikNet's forums (http://forums.bosaik.net) in order to keep discussion between walrii and heathens consolidated, I will probably make a topic for the server here.

Sounds like a good deal. If you start a topic here, make sure it's properly titled, though, to avoid confusion if someone here ever starts a modded Minecraft server. And also make sure that the server URL and connection info remains up to date in the first post at any time. Glad to see some people here joining, by the way :)
