I played it. It emulates quite nicely the original physics. But dang this eats my FPS...

The wonders of todays technology! :D
I wonder how cty today's games will look in 17 years. :P
Depends of the game and console I think. I have the feeling that non-celshaded Gamecube and Wii games that relies on having realistic graphics will look crappy. PS2 games are already starting to look a bit crappy in terms of realism. Mario and other games not requiring big graphics will probably age well, same for 2D or 2.5D games. Super Mario 64 is hit and miss, though. Some wall textures in the castle look really weird, for example, but the cartoony feel of the game helps making the rest look fine.

There will probably be some exceptions, though. Forza Motorsports for the Xbox, for example, has graphics that are so advanced for its time that it could be mistaken for an early Xbox 360 or PS3 game.

In any case, I don't mind if graphics look sub-par to today standards if the game is fun. But the difference is starting to get noticeable a lot.

I don't have any slowdowns personally, but again I replaced my graphics card with another middle-end one in early 2012.
