Well, it's called Telnet but it's pretty much a serial monitor on the calc side like the one that comes with the Arduino IDE, no unix shell needed. It was designed for use with one but you don't really need one.
#2
Yeah, from what I remember it's not easy for a calc to communicate with an Arduino due to timing issues and the CPU being barely powerful enough for fast serial communications, I'd advise trying with one Arduino first at low speeds with the build-in Serial library (iirc you can plug the TX and RX pins directly on the 2.5mm jack), and on the calc itself use a telnet terminal such as this one: https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/141/14141.html

Im sorry to bother you again but can i get the file for this version of the
cookie clicker app https://codewalr.us/index.php?msg=50203?
Here it is :) Please add the .zip file extension if that doesn't work. Feel free to ask again!

UPDATE

Quote from: Yuki on September 16, 2023, 11:14:51 PMAlso note I said boob physics, I'm waiting for the release of Inochi2D 0.9 with a new rewritten renderer so including it in games engines will be easier, until then it's pretty much PNGs

Yeah, generating all those PNGs is a time-consuming process I don't want to do all over again once Inochi2D 0.9 is out and/or I need to change literally anything in the character design (unless I figure out how to script that, but eh), so figures I'm doing something else in the meantime, like standard Horse Life 98 strips or...

change of plans, we're doing this

Been a while I posted either so, uh, thought you'd like what I have so far...

Horse Life 98: Eternal Winter

From a39 studios, introducing a visual novel adaptation of the definitely not award winning webcomic Horse Life 98!

We are on the eve of the feast of St. John the Baptist, the national day of Québec. A feast where we celebrate the beginning of summer, when it's starting to get hot outside. However, it's not hot. It's freezing cold. It's all but summer. What's happening? Is the groundhog that died on Groundhog Day having something to do?

Find Yuki and Tsuki, two girls with legendary kitsune powers, on their quest to find summer back in this comedy visual novel, Japanese style but 100% Québécois, created and directed by J. P. Savard. A novel with multiple branches, several possibilities of trial and error, and a lot of absurd situations. Can you find a way to bring summer back?

Have a WIP screenshot :)

Made using Ren'Py, Mannequin and Inochi2D, available eventually on itch.io and (probably) Steam in French and English.

You can support development on Patreon at https://patreon.com/a39 i'll try to post some devlogs here  :)

Hey, wait a minute, I'm pretty sure I've seen a story unfolding exactly like this before... Some big company removing a major feature for no other reason than "security"...

Yeah...

Any of you guys daring enough for a class action lawsuit?

If anyone use Arch Linux, I had a repo for a while with a few interesting software such as TI/Numworks/X16 emulators and tools. Today I'm also adding daily builds for some of the packages, so check it out :)

All the instructions are at https://repo.juju2143.ca.

Quote from: DJ Omnimaga on July 18, 2020, 01:56:08 PMIf it doesn't cost $300-400 like a real Commodore 64, then I might be interested.
Probably more like $200. It's made to be as low cost as possible using off-the-shelf components.

Quote from: DJ Omnimaga on July 18, 2020, 01:56:08 PMAs far as Commodore IP goes, I wonder who acquired them when they went bankrupt in 1994? I know the Atari Jaguar is now public-domain, but I forgot about the CD32 and the Commodore computers.
It's a company called Cloanto, and they're still very protective of their IP.

Quote from: DJ Omnimaga on July 18, 2020, 01:56:08 PMEDIT: Actually this seems a bit different than the C64. Will it run C64 stuff?
Yes and no, it's based on the C64 and it's compatible with it up to a point but the graphics and the sound are very different. It uses a custom graphics card (which will work on the C64 if you want), and last I heard it uses a YM2151 and a PSG instead of a SID.

Hardware / Commander X16
July 18, 2020, 12:33:40 AM
If you follow the 8-Bit Guy, you might know he's working on a brand new Commodore 64-like computer, and it looks quite interesting: the hardware is close to done, there's an emulator and many tools developed around it, and they even have permission from whoever ended up with the Commodore IP to build on the 64's ROM!

So yeah, I'm a mod on the brand-new forums and we're starting to get a nice community going on, if you want to check it out :)

I'm not sure. I also had the same problem when I tried to plug something that isn't the router my ISP gave me. (Which is also your ISP.) I suspect MAC filtering, or maybe some weird unsupported or unconfigured feature the modem or the ISP needed.

In any case, it's not super secure to plug a desktop computer directly on the Internet these days, unless it's been configured correctly.
