Title: CodeWalrus Steam Group
Post by: brentmaas on June 17, 2015, 05:42:55 PM
Heyo all,

Eiyeron, Cumred and I were just playing some Borderlands when it struck us, where's the CW Steamgroup? Well now it's here:
CodeWalrus Steam Group (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/CodeWalrus)

I'm all open to suggestions as some sections aren't fully filled in, just keep a couple of things in mind:
-I can't change the tag to 'CW' or 'Walrii' as those are already taken.
-<Insert forum's rules>

It's a public group, so feel free to join!

I joined as well. I don't get on Steam very often but sometimes you might see me there.

As suggestion, you could add to the description that CodeWalrus team will not be held responsible about any incident that could occur on the group nor involve its members or players that played with its members. Just to make sure to prevent incidents like in 2008 with the Omni group (http://www.omnimaga.org/news/half-life-2-and-the-orange-box-users/).

Kind of totally copied that :P, anyway it's now in the description.

Coincidentally, Cumred told me I should do that one when I told him those others were unavailable :P.
Still thanks for coming up with ideas!

Thinking of that, once I get better internets next month we should organize some Gaming Nights, that would be nice.

Why would steam limit the amount of friends you can have? o.o

Too bad I don't use Steam... I play War Thunder which apparently is on Steam though.  Do nonsteam users and steam users get into the same matches in games?

If so I hope to shoot down some of you in War Thunder :P

Probably. I guess it's just for convenience  and logging in and stuff. I don't see why they would use different servers

Yep, it's because you haven't bought anything. Buy something and you can have all the friends you want. (Which is kinda weird out of context...)

Ok, I was wondering because one pf my friends claimed to have shot me down (actually his tail gunner did) with his steam account.
I should try convincing my parents to let me get a steam account. Gaming on Macs gets hard when all the games are windows only :P

There's quite a few good games for Mac. Half of my library is compatible with Mac.

Well, Microsoft did it with the original Xbox. You couldn't have more than 100 friends on it. THis restriction remained in place on the 360 as well until MS discontinued Xbox Live for the original Xbox. THis was probably to prevent friend addition spam (eg people adding 1000 friends every hour to spam links)

I would think there would be friend requests, instead if just friending without permission.

Yeah, but some games I play aren't. Besides my Mac lags a lot with graphics intensive games.

What year is your Mac? Because anything below 2008 can barley play some flash games.

I think it's below 2008, I got it in 2014

The problem is that I don't know any games, but this topic has been derailed enough :P
