Yeah true. By the way, the weird thing about my TI-82 is that when I last used it, 5 columns of pixels were missing, but then after 20 minutes only one was and it was just at lower contrast.

Not entirely sure. I think that an impact during shipping squeezed layers of the LCD together or something, and just now they're unsticking.
