Raycasting should definitly be faster than polygon engine, if done right. Just totally different use  :P

Got a 115 but yeah I am bad at matching pattern and I had to do it quickly (10min instead of '30min). Anyway, yeah, it only test one aspect of IQ, it is hard to get a good general test. Usually those last at least 2 or 3 hours and are a collection of multiple stuff. Quite more accurate I'll say. (I did one actually when I was young and I am supposed to be >130). But I know for a fact that I am much more a space visualisation guy than a 2D pattern matching machine :p

I did a very small C library for fixed 8.8 point format, https://github.com/TheMachine02/FixedPoint8/blob/master/fixedpoint.h . Should be quite fast (at least almost as integer and much better than float) although I guess it could be better and could  support 16.8 too  :P
There isn't all math functions either, so that will need to be coded  :)

This effect come most likely from switching the LCD from 8 bits to 16 bits without propremy resetting the framebuffer first. Granted it doesn't do any damage to the calc or whatsover, it is just ugly  :P

Thanks guy !  :D

And yeah, don't worry, my computer is fine .. and I have two backup on external hard-drive and two people who accepted to have backup on there own too, so the source should be fine  :P

Quite a good idea, let's do this right now !  :P

On thé ez80 about one year .
Also I fear that it may not precise enough for a plotter.

Thanks :D

It gives that :

I've also zoom in so you can appreciate texture detail  :P

So I had doubt at first with texturing + lightning with 256 colors as I found it a bit low, but next screen alleviated my doubt  :P

1135vx / 1881tris / ~4 fps

It is a statue from ff12, and I do think it look glorious  :P Still, of course, speed is quite low  <_<

The more you reduce the triangle count, the faster rendering is  :P. Per triangle cost are some of the huge cost associated with the engine, but it decrease and decrease with optimization  :P

Anyway, I have reintroduced cheap lightning :

It only add 15 ms to the rendering, which is pretty low. Backside with current lightning is that animated model aren't proprely lighted for now due to flaw in the pipeline.

And the speed increase is not over yet  :P Compared to precedent screen, it is about 15-20% performance increase.

Or you can use the pageswap axiom : https://www.omnimaga.org/axe-language/(tutorial)-using-the-pageswap-axiom/ which allow to store function in app.
