Pi84 - The Raspberry Pi powered TI-84+

Hello together! This is my second go on a Raspberry Pi hearted TI-84+. (Note to mods: I really want to make this a new project without any affiliation to the old so I need a new topic).I have decided for an early hardware version of the 84+ as it's PCB can be cut smaller than on the new versions. For the keyboard and power management, I am going to use a Teensy 3.2 that will hook up to the 84+'es matrix. [...

Commander X16

If you follow the 8-Bit Guy, you might know he's working on a brand new Commodore 64-like computer, and it looks quite interesting: the hardware is close to done, there's an emulator and many tools developed around it, and they even have permission from whoever ended up with the Commodore IP to build on the 64's ROM! So yeah, I'm a mod on the brand-new forums and we're starting to get a nice community going on, if you want to check it out

z80 computer with arduino coprocessor.

I built a prototype for a z80 computer that uses an arduino for communication and bootstrapping. I can assemble a z80 source program with brass, and send it to the arduino with a small python program. The arduino is running a firmware program that waits for a program to be sent over serial, which it loads into the ram chip for the z80 to execute. The z80 communicates with the arduino via IO requests. The arduino<-->z80 API only contains 3 commands, but these can be used for the z80 to send messa...

Symbolibre: open RPi Zero-based graphing calculator...

Over the past few days, the word has started spreading about a ~university project of a team of 25 French students working part-time for several months, which yielded the Symbolibre graphing calculator effort, based on modern, cheap hardware components and open source / libre software I'm not involved in that project, I'm just relaying news. To date, most information about the Symbolibre remains written in French, AFAICT.It's based on a $5 RPi Zero module[/b...

Pasco Xplorer GLX Hardware

I took some highly detailed PCB pictures of the Pasco PS-2002 Xplorer GLX . Pasco hasn't really published anything about its hardware so I do not have much to go off of (unlike Vernier, Pasco doesn't talk much about their hardware). I've worked out the following info: The CPU is clocked at 50 MHz. I don't even know which IC the CPU is, and I don't know what type of CPU it has; Pasco calls it a "floating point CPU." I hope it isn't in the FPGA. There'...

Just some clock I made with my Arduino and a 16x8 character screen. It's linked to a script on my computer that feeds it time and current temperature over serial port, might add some more weather details soon. Anyway, it's a pretty nice thing to make, very useful if you're too lazy to check The Weather Channel all the time.I'm not sure if I'm going to update it anytime soon, or if I have the means to make a video about it, but eh, I have a blurry webcam picture.

The WalrusLink Project

Currentle we (DarkestEx + p2) are working at a little hardware project together.Out original idea was that it would be really cool to be able to use external Keyboards on your calculator. However that idea developed into something bigger... Our plan is the following:We want to use Arduino parts to create a rather cheap posibillity to use one (or multiple) external keyboards (PS/2, USB, 2.5mm Phone connector) without any need of knowledge about the technology we use. We want it to be as simple to ...
