On a side note, is it normal that Chrome mobile shows animated GIF's like poorly-compressed JPG's? The Walrii looks that way on my phone

You mean on android? TBH its hard to spot but I think I see it. Also on android, the two walrii at the bottom of the screen in this thread have weird artifacts on the edges.

YEah I noticed that too, which is strange since it doesn't happen with the one in the Pokémon Go thread.

You probably have a lower-end or older phone. My Samsung i5510 had the same problem. Usually, you need to root your phone then install a screenshot utility, but even with root some phones won't support it. My Nexus 5 supports it by default.
