I voted for a merger with TI-Planet. Considering the circumstances, I believe it's the best option. TI-Planet is a great place, and if they consequently become more open to the English-speaking community, then all the better. United we stand! :D

General Music Talk / Re: Soundcloud doomed?
July 15, 2017, 10:26:20 PM
I'd say more like 3 devs, considering how slow they are with bugfixes and stuff.
Seriously though, soundcloud has been pronounced dead so often, I kinda stopped worrying. Eventually they'll just sell out. If the founders don't do it, then the bankruptcy trustee will :o

Yes, the picture can be anything. We do reserve the right to reject offensive and low-quality troll entries, though. Also, explicit/nsfw pictures will probably be excluded from the online poll, in accordance with codewalr.us' rules.

Hey gang!

A bunch of friends and me are running a little TI calculator graphics competition. And of course, you're all invited to participate!

THE TASK

Draw a picture in the standard graphics format of monochrome, Z80-based TI graphing calculators (TI-82, TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-84 Plus, and compatible models)!

DEADLINE

Sunday, August 20th, 2017 23:59 GMT

RESTRICTIONS

Works should be original - converted images (found on the internet or elsewhere) are taboo.

VOTING

A jury will pick the winners until September 3rd. I'll probably also post a public poll on here.

PRIZES

Nothing, just ethernal fame ;) Aside from that, the first 3 places will receive a printed diploma by mail.

SUBMITTING

Send your works to 1bitforum at posteo dot net no later than August 20th. Please include the following information:

- name of your work
- artist name
- your real name and address, in case you wish to receive your diploma by mail

Works should be submitted as 96x64 pixel, 2-color (black/white) .bmp. Entries will be converted to TI format by the compo organizers.

There is a maximum of two works per author. In case of a high number of entries, there will be a pre-selection by the compo organizers.

Lol, that is weird. Although in the future I bet there will be laws forbidding the killing of bees.

Killing bees is illegal in Germany, and can incur a fine of up to 50,000 EUR depending on the circumstances ;)
Also this law about following a tribe of bees is really not that weird. If you're a beekeeper, you need to be able to follow and reclaim your tribe when it decides to swarm, as they regularly do in late spring.

Aww, that Lord of Fire game sounds interesting, I might give that a try. Anybody played it yet?

If you don't like lxde, try a distro with an xfce desktop (Debian+xfce for example, or Xubuntu if you absolutely want to stick with Canonical).

A wild update appears! HoustonTracker 2.20 features new effects and better speed control, and comes with ht2util, a savestate manager for importing tracks from older versions. Full list of changes is in the original post.

Get HT 2.20 at http://irrlichtproject.de/houston
New demo tune at https://soundcloud.com/irrlicht-project/hrd-4-da-money

And last but not least, a vid to demonstrate some of the new features.

Ah, now I realize that the topic is "TI forum activity stats", not "Calc forum activity stats". Whoops :D
#10
I see cnCalc is missing from that list - one of the most active non-English calc forums out there!
Not sure if it matters, but DCF is also missing. It was a long-running German Casio forum, started back in like, 1998? And closed down in at the end of 2013.

The TRS-80 Model 2 is in fact a SHARP PC-1500 with RadioShark's brand.

Nope, that'd be the TRS-80 Pocket Computer 2, yet another totally unrelated machine. Yes, Radioshack's naming schemes are indeed utterly confusing.

No no, this is a TRS-80 Color Computer Model 1, aka Coco 1. It has a 6809 CPU. A little odd, but quite powerful chip. It also has a very nice 6-bit DAC sound generator. Made a sound routine for it a while ago: https://soundcloud.com/irrlicht-project/pcmplay-test1-dragontandy-coco

Hmm, that's one neat-looking TRS-80! Those are quite rare over here. However, I'm almost certain that the costs of shipping to Europe + import taxes wouldn't make for a great deal, after all. So I just hope it finds a caring new owner :D Whatever you do with those computers, don't throw them in the trash, ey?

A bit late to the party, but here's some inspiration for the aspiring Yamaha chiptuner:

In any case, good luck with adding MIDI!

Oh ok. I was starting to get ideas lol.

Well, I used to live in Manitoba after all :D

Btw, the tracker list on my blog is usually up to date (maybe 1-2 weeks behind sometimes, but I do my best to keep track of all new releases). But it includes only trackers that are in (more or less) active development. There are many, many more ;) Anyway, new in today: TIATracker (for the Atari 2600 :D)

He, nothing wrong with sticking to what works best for you. I'm not a big fan of DAWs either, though I occasionally use Neil Sequencer, an obscure but powerful Jeskola Buzz-like workstation. Where occasionally means like once a year, if even.

Btw, another CW member that makes music is @Keoni29, check his soundcloud.
