To help investigate on why the site loads slowly despite the very low page execution time, I decided to do some tests:

Pingdom DNS Health Test

No delegation could be found at the parent, making your zone unreachable from the Internet.
Not enough nameserver information was found to test the zone codewalr.us, but an IP address lookup succeeded in spite of that.
Pingdom test on entire page (I enabled guest board view for a few minutes to perform this test before disabling it again: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/bj3m50/http://codewalr.us/index.php
Traceroute test from Pingdom gave an Invalid Host Name error.
Looks like something's slow in OmnomIRC.
Probably, but I had slowdowns before Omnom got installed too, just not as bad. Maybe somebody was testing it on a subdomain, though.
Maybe some Omnom parameters need to be reduced to reduce load?

@Streetwalrus , mind checking the server logs around the time of this post and the hour before? Because since the past several minutes I noticed that the site often takes several seconds to load, often with page execution times going through the roof and other times not. I found nothing out of the ordinary in the forum stats nor the online list (such as inflated traffic), so it might be worth investigating. Now it's fine it seems, but I am still curious about what caused that spike.
Something I noticed too is that IRC post notificiations will often go through about two or three seconds before the page reloads on my end.
