Best (SciFi) books?

I'm a huge fan of ScienceFiction, but only the older books as the new ones really suck. (ok, human-eating nude killer aliens with 7 boobs are cool but I prefer good stories)So I just recently bought E.E.Smith's "Weltraumzirkus d'Alembert" (Space circus d'Alembert). Got all 10 books (used) for only 50€. In my mind it's one of the best SciFi stories ever But I'm interested. What SciFi books do you guys read? Anything you can recommend?

Digital or physical? (games, music, movies)

So I was wondering if you were more a fan of buying digital games, music and movies or if you still prefer physical copies?Personally I still prefer buying physical games whenever possible, because if the download shop closes down and my game console breaks, then I lose everything I bought. This is unlikely to happen with Steam or PSN, but again Eaton and Sears used to be huge success for decades and still ended up in deep troubles or shutting down entirely. So my friend made a 37 minute long animated movie, which by itself wouldn't be terribly impressive, except for the program he used to make it. The entire thing (aside from text cutscenes) was made in powerpoint . He made each individual frame, copying the one before it and moving the different shapes. He uses it as a vector art suite instead of a slideshow creator. Anyways, you can watch it here:

Anime intros: Do you prefer original or translated/remade?

It depends for me. In some cases I prefer the translated version of a song. For example, I prefer the French version of Bruises by Train (which features Marilou) and the French intro to season 1 of Pokémon.
