I still use the old version of the Student Software so I can't open your document, but if you send me the code I may be able to give some suggestions.

I haven't worked on this project in a while- hopefully I'll pick it back up when my school year starts.

On a side note @LD Studios will there be some math formula that shows up on the screen that you must solve? Or am I missing something out? I am curious about what is the problem to solve in the screenshots. Also if I had a game idea based on this, would you mind if I made one for other calcs? I would most likely give you credits for the original idea, though, and the game would probably be more limited to a few attack types.
Maybe this will clarify: You need to use the numbers on the right (combine them with +, - and/or *), to get the numbers in the top left corners of the cards on the left in order to use the moves/items on those cards. For example, if you want to use the potion (19), you could use up the 12 and the 7 by adding them together, or you could use up 3, 7, and 2, and do 3*7-2. The idea is to use them up such that you are able to get as many of the numbers on the left as possible, so that you will be able to perform more abilities during your turn. There will probably be some sort of bonus for using up all of the numbers.

Feel free to borrow the game concept.

I finished character sprites:

(I kinda screwed up making the .gif so some of the animations aren't right i.e the wizard's staff shouldn't be screwed up)

And here's a glimpse at the player screen:

So lately I've been working on a game called "Mental Dungeon" (considering changing the name to "Arithmattack"?)
The goal is to perform subtraction, addition and multiplication to a random set of numbers, to achieve specific numbers that will allow you to perform attacks and other moves. Hopefully coming soon!

Screenshots/Mockups:
Home Screen/Main Menu:                                                                   Battle Screen:

Shop- Purchase consumables or new weapons:                         Tavern- Replenish health or temporarily increase stats:

Shop and Tavern

So far I've only posted mockups, I've gotten the core battle engine and homescreen programmed, but haven't implemented any art into the actual game yet.

Indeed, I love that black and white effect. Maybe, if it becomes a game, add an option to make it sepia and chrome colored? :P
I considered having multiple tints such as blue, green, red or sepia, but that would be a huge pain and blow up the file size because I'd need multiple copies of each image.

Anyways, title screen looking alright:

I'll shrink i down a bit when I get home, I can get the height down to 8

I don't think it's really possible to do something of that complexity in 8x8, but I quickly drew this up in as little space as possible:

I started a new project with some of the art. Perform operations +, - or x on the numbers to the right, to try to get the numbers on the cards on the left, to perform those moves. Still very much W.I.P, not sure if I'll finish it, but it's pretty cool so far

May not have ranked high, but I was 3rd place by the judging at least ^.^

The poll seems unfair because platforms that more users have access to will get more votes
