Drawing & Animation / Re: Game mock-up graphics and ideas

The sprite speed should be a lot faster if the main character was 8x8 as opposed to 16x16. I do have another test that has the sprite change direction + walking animation as well.

I resized the tiles manually just in an image editor and did some *minor* cleanup, For an actual project more care would be taken with the sprites etc. I should note that the tiles are still 8x8 but the map just lays them out in 16x16 ... there is a benefit that some parts of different tiles are the same, so those redundant tiles are removed.

I might see what an 8x8 hero looks like :).

Drawing & Animation / Game mock-up graphics and ideas

I thought that I might start a mock-up thread since they are always interesting :).

Here is the one I posted in DJ's other thread. This is a simple xLIBC demo of a concept DJ posted a few months ago:

I wasn't sure if there was a mockups thread but I remember there you posting some PRIZM mockup screenies on omni. I found a little xLIBC demo I did of them:

Haha gold, its pretty crazy the naming conventions they use, its as if they hired people from Nintendo's Pokémon, DS or Gameboy naming teams to help out.

I built a sort of medium system about 6-months back - FX-8350 octa-core, 16GB RAM, AMD 290X graphics. My old system was about 7 years old (quad core phenom) so this one handles things a fair bit easier :).

There is 1 big thing for me in 2015 - I'm going to become a father! :).

So I kinda want to get some calc coding out of the way before that happens as my free time might be limited for a while :).

Projects and stuff include CSE BASIC/xLIBC RPG demo, maybe some tutorials and of course investigating the CE calcs. I also plan on properly porting my 3D engine across to colour calcs and making something with it too.

Also will enjoy watching sports and stuff, hopefully get to more pro games - I might even try to play football again (even though my fitness is < 0%).

I really love the colours in this game, so nice.

I should investigate scrolling on the CSE to see if it can be improved for speed/ease.
