I found this article O.O

http://www.windowscentral.com/starcraft-diablo-ii-and-warcraft-3-remasters-windows-10-may-be-works

I don't know if it's true and if it's still in the plans, but if it is it would really rule, especially considering how crappily those games run on newer versions of Windows. :O

I wonder, though, if the SC1 remaster won't just be an extra Starcraft 2 expansion or something? Also since SC2 is free to play they would probably need to also make SC1 remaster free to play and make certain parts of the game paid in order to be popular.

Another report about Starcraft HD: http://kotaku.com/report-blizzard-releasing-starcraft-hd-1784863397?utm_campaign=Socialflow_Kotaku_Facebook&utm_source=Kotaku_Facebook&utm_medium=Socialflow

Seriously, while Starcraft 2 improves balance over Brood War, a Starcraft HD with the original units and campaing would be absolutely epic. On a side note, when I last went on Battle.net there were 7000 people online playing SC BW. 7000 people, 17 years after the expansion release. Also apparently this could be a 2D game but we never know. With 3D graphics it would kinda be cool, especially if they look similar to Starcraft 2. I hope they use Battle.net 2, though, because it's very hard to connect to games in the original.

HYPE!

I lost my install disc for Brood War, so I've been sitting here playing SCII/WoL. Now that this has been announced, it means I won't have to worry about my the missing installation media.
Well, I'm bach here too!

It depends. If it's true that the Anthology is becoming free to play then maybe you'll be able to download it at will. Also I wonder if the remaster will be 2D, 3D and if a 4K monitor will be required?

4K monitors won't be required. It's just that 4K will be supported.

Starcraft Remaster launches on August 14th, according to the new in-game Starcraft menu. They have started to do many changes to the game, possibly to integrate the new Battle.net into the old one. You can now change the game options from the main menu, after 19 years of wait, and some menus are now HD. I personally bought the remaster upgrade so I can't wait to try it.

For those who want to play but aren't willing to buy the remaster upgrade, you can play for free by downloading Starcraft Anthology. The in-game graphics will just be at the original resolution.
