Be careful @Streetwalrus and @aeTIos when you clear the spam account approval queue, because so far this month we had two user accounts marked as spam, even though they were legit members. I spotted both and approved them (and sent validation e-mail), but just letting you know before you quickly reject all accounts without checking carefully.

If someone makes a legit account on the forums and gets rejected, just send an e-mail to   a d m i n [at] c o d e w a l r . u s   then try registering again.

Oh. I usually skim the list but I dont really read it carefully. Will exercise a bit more caution.

I've stopped looking at the list long ago. <_<

^Note to members: Before you Americans/Canadians/Mexicans get ideas, aeTIos doesn't live in North America, so the word used in his video doesn't mean what you think. :P

But yeah to be honest I usually skimmed through the list every now and then, although I might have forgotten at some point when it was just blatant spam registrations. But I never spotted anything legit before except maybe before we opened to public (yes, we got spambots before the site became public)

The rule of thumb is if the account e-mail/nickname is not red-colored in the list, then it has chances to be false-positive.

What would it mean ???
u/Dream of Omnimaga July 24, 2016, 04:14:48 PM
Faggot meaning:
-United Kingdom: A kind of meal
-Rest of Europe: Generic insult (in this case used in jest)
-USA and Canada: Homophobic slur referring to gay men

Fag meaning:
-Europe and Australia: Cigarette
-North America: Homophobic slur referring to gay men

Lol, I wasn't aware. Isn't calling someone gay when they're not an insult anyway ? :P
u/Dream of Omnimaga July 24, 2016, 04:27:49 PM
Not anymore, at least not in USA and Canada since the late 90's. Of course people might still find it insulting if used to jump to conclusions (eg if someone is caught listening to Madonna), but now it's just used as a synonym for homosexual. Ironically, though, gay is sometimes used worldwide as a generic insult or to refer to something that is either mediocre or bad.
u/novenary July 24, 2016, 04:30:44 PM
That's what I meant. :P
u/Dream of Omnimaga July 24, 2016, 04:33:01 PM
I know, but what I mean is that it's not always used that way anymore and that it's now also used to refer to mediocre games and all. :P
