Hello, I was reading how to install ndless 4.2 in TI-planet.....and I have a question....well I have a nspire cx non cas with serial P...B
I upgraded from to 3.0 to 4.2.0.532...but now I really need the cas version, also I already installed ndless 4.2.
.....is there any way to transformer my cx non cas to cx cas using that ndless?? ???
Hi and welcome here. :)
I never attempted this myself, especially not with a version this high, but from what I remember, you need nLaunchy software in order to do that. By serial P...B, do you mean that the serial number on the back of your calculator ends with the letter B? That would be one of the first ever hardware revisions if that's the case, which is nLaunchy-compatible. Someone else might be able to help more.
Since it came with OS 3.0 I'm sure it's able to run Nlaunchy. You will have to figure out how to use it on your own though, we don't really endorse that modification as it allows you to cheat by bringing that calc to an exam where CAS is prohibited. Also note that you cannot run a CAS OS newer than 3.2 or 3.3 on a non-CAS calc, as TI has modified their detection code and no one has patched that out for the reasons stated above.
Hm I didn't know newer OSes couldn't be ran. I figured that perhaps 4.2 would not work but I thought that at least 3.6 or 3.9 were doable now.
Nah I think they changed that logic sometime around 3.6.
Ah that sucks. Although I stuck with 3.1 for so long due to smaller file size and being reboot-proof at the time, 3.6 brings many improvements such as faster Lua.
You can get reboot proof ndless on any OS with Nlaunchy. The only problem is that you can't mix and match a (non)CAS OS and calculator.
Ah I see. The whole Nspire scene is confusing because of all those OS and Ndless versions.
