Poll
Question:
Are you participating to Contest II?
Option 1: Yes
votes: 7
Option 2: No
votes: 8
So with the contest underway, I was wondering who is participating? In any case, I recommend against waiting at the very last minute, because 24 hours before the deadline is generally not enough to work on a Walrii game. :P I made a poll.
I am definitely in ;)
I am, I just haven't made a topic yet

Great! The more the merrier ;)

For the 4x3 contest, two entries got rejected for that reason :P (although another reason was that they were submitted about 5 hours late :P). Good to hear you plan to enter, though :)
I'm totally entering, I just need to finalize my ideas. :)
I'm busy as well but atm I'm doing more about a simple engine.
I don't know yet. Maybe yes if I find time, maybe no.
If I only knew how to code...
I am probably in. If I don't have to last-minute some school work and that ''''disertation'''' for math, I will try to do my best :P
I don't expect too much work, so I'll try to get it done over the holidays.
The platform will be linux, but definitely compileable on other platforms too. Let's see if I can port some sprites and therefore the game to calcs too :)

This is the occasion to learn! :3=
I am definitely participating.
Oh, and one idea that I had that I scrapped: a puzzle game (top down or platformer) where you were a walrii trying to get his wings. :walrii:
I can't even join :P i woulf if i could

That would be a cool idea if someone else built from that. Otherwise, puzzle games offer many possibilities, given the large variety of walrus sprites and blocks can be replaced with them.
Well, I could participate, but I'm barred from participating for the simple reason I'm staff here. Oh well.

But if your aren't judging then it would be ok then?
I may or may not help DJ overviewing the contest, and I have access to the contest email as well, so I'm not sure it would be okay. I could write a demo without entering like last time, though.
Ahh, I see well that stinks :P

No because the entire staff knew about the contest theme for about 1 week earlier than the rest of the members, so it would be kinda unfair. Plus I mentionned the idea several months ago once too.
Nothing stops juju from making a walrus game outside the contest, though.
That too. All the staff participated in the discussion about what would the contest be.
Ahh, I see well we could make a walrii game on the server :P
Would be cool if you staff members could participate too, maybe not as a winner and stuff, but even that is up to you, since you all are really cool :P Well, looking forward to see some great stuff anyway!
(maybe the users could donate a staff-price?)
I am trying to, but i have bean very busy. Good thing i have not school next werk or the week after that :D

That could be an idea actually. Staff could participate and be judged, but they would not count in the standings (for example, if Juju is 2nd best, then it's the 3rd place that would win the 2nd prize). Just to show examples of what can be done with the walrus sprites. But I would rather have members participate too :)
Yeah, but just because you aren't in the running for a prize doesn't mean you can't make something really cool (not saying that is isn't an encouraging factor :P)
I may or may not participate in the contest, depending on if I find a simple enough idea for me to work on.
I am totally not participating

There has not been any progress [lazer] for a long time ... The project is not dead however, but will be worked along side on Super Walrii Land 8x+ when i finish the contest :) The [lazer] file editing was finished, but my whole file system is hodge poge :( Thats why for my contest entry, Super Walrii Land 8x+, the first thing i am making is a proper file system :P
I'll likely participate. Haven't decided if I'll use this contest to practice Love2D or UE4, though :P

So you will make a PC game if you do participate?

That is correct. I don't do much calc programming nowadays :/
I see, looks like it is an even 50% 50% for the poll O.O

Well I think it would be different if
every Codewalrus member voted...
Maybe more no than yes, to be serious and honest.

True dat. It doesn't look like there will be much of a competition for the people entering.
There is still a whole month ;)
Are you entering
@kegwaan BTW?
Hopefully there are more people who will enter during holidays.
I truly hope so also, I want to win but I would rather have more people participate on the fourms :'(

:( maybe in the next contest.
What concerns me is that only 12 people actually voted.
Yeah, but active people that aren't participating might not visit this thread since they do not find it relavent
Well, as of now I am definately participating.
Good :), as always, don't make the entry too big in terms of complexity, to not run out of time.
I started working on something too. But I am not sure I'll finish it in time -.-
And since I still use the Ndless SDK 3.1, I am not sure either that it will work on 3.6 :P
It should due to backwards compatibility but we never know.
Aw cmon, I have 4.0 so I wouldn't be able to run/play it :(.
DJ should be able to run it on his calc though.
As I said
@Hayleia it doesn't have to be very big. That said, normally Ndless 3.1 stuff should run on 3.6 and vice-versa. Otherwise I can always test in an emulator, since I still have it setup for 3.1.
Good luck :3=
