I have 4 android phones.
#1 - DInc - needs reflashed and new LCD
#2 - EVO - replaced the USB port with a hot air gun which worked excellently
#3 - TB - needs new mobo which I'll buy on ebay
#4 - Droid - seems to have a faulty digitizer

I'm okay with hw repair issues, but for some reason, I can't fix sw related things! So in this case I really need help with the DInc (HTC Droid Incredible), I deleted the OS without making a backup and now can't get it back. Here is a picture of it's boot screen with it's info:
I've tried connecting it to a computer  and doing RUU but the computer generally won't recognize it being there. I tried using an SD card but it told me some error message I don't remember.

Have you got a custom recovery installed?
and how do you connect to your PC, via ADB?
u/Snektron March 13, 2015, 11:19:27 PM
And adb devices doesn't return anything?
u/Caleb Hansberry March 13, 2015, 11:34:47 PM
Right, it only says "List of devices attached". (I've pretty sure the software computerside is good cause it works with other phones).

But you can boot into recovery? If so try another sd and flashing from recovery

Using an SD card, I get:
Loading... [PB31IMG.zip]
<screen clears>
Checking... [PB31IMG.zip]
<screen clears>
Main Version is older!
Update FAIL!
Do you want to reboot your device...?
<VOL UP> Yes
<VOL DOWN> No

You might be able to install CyanogenMod on it. The wiki has extensive documentation on how to do this. Fyi running an ruu needs the phone to be booted in a special mode. Select fastboot mode then run fastboot oem rebootRUU on the computer.

Okay, trying that - I'll post here if I get an error and we'll see if it succeeds.

I am hoping that you didn't brick your phone for good. >.<

Okay, well I guess that's that! In a good way. I downloaded the ROM, chucked it onto the SD card, ran recovery and installed zip, waited about two minutes and rebooted, and to my surprise it booted into cyanogenmod 7 and ran without any issues! It's better than stock for me anyway so thanks for the suggestion, street!

Awesome to hear it works! :D Any other issues so far, by the way? And how fast is it?
u/novenary March 15, 2015, 07:39:54 AM
Great to hear and glad I could help ! :walrii:

@DJ Omnimaga Well, no, suprisingly there hasn't been a single issue, all has been sunshine and roses after I installed Cyanogen, even exemplary battery life! And I haven't had any complaints about operational speed either, it seems as snappy as a 2010 Android device can be, if you're not trying to run KitKat and then run the latest version of minecraft with maxed settings or whatever.

Here's a picture of when it first booted in all it's blueness (damaged LCD, it's replacement is in the mail):

Awesome. Btw how much does a replacement LCD cost?
