Oh I mostly meant community as in the users rather than moderators. If mods are a problem then people can easily start their own site anyway.

I like them, and you should do a Walriichu version of the last one. :3=

Those look nice p4nix! And I agree with DJ :P

The walriichu one has to wait :D

I made a new pixelart, but I'm not quite sure which version is the best and how to tweak it to become almost perfect. BTW, this was not traced at all and made entirely from scratch just using GIMP.

My favorite is the 3rd. The sun looks really like it's reflected. :)

Also that last pic would look nice in a JRPG cutscene. :)

Don't ask. I know it's not perfect, but it really isn't meant to...

Hm, the tusks could be more white and longer, actually, and the legs could be made to look more like flippers, but otherwise it's getting there :)

Haha, that's amazing. Your pixel art is quite something, @p4nix! Keep it up, I love this stuff :D

Nice pics. I like monochrome pixelart, especially because of the dithering effects.
u/Dream of Omnimaga May 17, 2016, 03:59:49 PM
Yeah I like that in low-color pixel art too. It depends which kind, though. Some look cooler with no dithering and at low resolution monochrome dithering can be hard to distinguish in small areas.

Thanks guys. I'm definitely not what I'd consider as good, but I guess I can only improve by practicing ;)

Thanks a lot for the motivation. Also, I'd really like to hear of you what could be done better in some pictures. So don't be shy and just tell, I won't bite, I promise :P

What I find hard to do on black backgrounds are small sprites, especially under 16x16, because sometimes we have to use two outlines (one that is black and the other white), which takes an extra two pixels in width and height. I think this is why so many calculator games used white backgrounds.
