When i had free time i basically created this GIF viewer for the CE. Still need to write a program though to convert GIFs to the on-calc format used by my calc. For now though, enjoy this little animation of a walrus :3
Step 1: send both of attached files to your CE calc.
Step 2: type the following into your calc and press enter:
"WALRII":Asm(prgmGIFCE
can you maybe provide a screenshot for all thos that dont have a CE? :)
All it does is display these two images in succession :P http://imgur.com/a/J2gug
erm i just tried this out on CEmu. that's not exactly what happened, but pretty close.
kotu? can you maybe provide a screenshot for all thos that dont have a CE? :)
Posting the same twice and still be on-topic... feels strange
Works for me :P
Nice idea. This could definitively be used for a video player actually, since many tools to convert videos to GIFs exist. However, is it possible to scale smaller gifs up in the program?

the end of ur GIF looks creepy kotu D: What is happening?
This effect come most likely from switching the LCD from 8 bits to 16 bits without propremy resetting the framebuffer first. Granted it doesn't do any damage to the calc or whatsover, it is just ugly :P
Well it's actually pretty amazing, maybe you could use that effect for games?
You should really do some experiments on this ^.^
/me mentions
@PT_ just to annoy him with my 8th post today
It's just messing with the palette and going back into 16bpp, nothing creepy :P

I really want a video player
Maybe with low fps if space is a problem

At 160*120 resolution and 8bpp, around 150 frames could fit, but take up ALL of flash.
Anyways, finishing this program isn't hard for me. What is hard though, is writing a program to convert from some video file to the format the program uses. Although i guess what could be done is extract each frame from a gif and feed it to CE conv png or something. Perhaps
@MateoConLechuga would be willing to help with that? :3
Can you make minecraft for the ti 84 plus ce ?
And can you make it a flash app or a program
YEah a vid player would be nice but it should have multiple resolution/frame rate settings. Not that a video player is really necessary but I guess people might find it cool.

This topic is not a program request topic, though. Use https://codewalr.us/index.php?topic=908.0 to share program ideas/requests, but make sure to not be pushy.

Cool! Just wondering what the data size is for images and if you are using any compression?
The only "compression" is lengths of transparent pixels. As Mateo suggested, if I ever do resume this project, I will probably stick to the gif format. But basically the amount if bytes an image takes up is just it's resolution (since its 8bpp)

I'll run my calc through the shredder if you do this.

No. I'd shred it because someone made calc c.
there already was calc c, but it clearly lacked the necessary quality xD
Also we're not serious about watching c on a calc, it's just that "the man that brought c to a calculator" is a honorable title that will be remembered
I know a link port-related GIF is available somewhere. It's SFW without context, but very subjective with it
