I wish I could do that; I started by telling them all the cool stuff we could make, dropping gifting hints, showing them 3D Printer Pens in magazines, told them about 3D food and chocolate printers, and I still got nothing. :P

To be fair for the parents, I think controlling your spending is justified as you are still learning and they might want to guide you. Because imagine for example if parents let their kids buy anything at will: What will happen when that kid turns 18 and moves out is that he will be stuck with the mentality that he can still spend his entire paycheck on video games once he moves out.

On the topic of 3D printing, I wonder @alexgt if you would be able to 3D print stuff over another existing item, such as an USB flash drive (might require something to protect it or to leave the original case on it I assume, due to heat)? :walrii: flash drives would be cool.

Well, I would print something in two parts and then glue them together.

I don't think it would be a good idea to print on a USB cable tho :P

I'd print some fancy cases and other stuff, then make a fortune on eBay.

Yeah I assume that the multicolor might be an issue. You would need to paint it.

Do you still have it? I could modify it a bit, then you could mass produce it and make a fortune on eBay. :walrii:

No, the file failed so I deleted it xD sorry :P

And mass production with a 3D printer is a joke... (It takes a while :P)

I know someone who has a giant 3D printer that's pretty fast. He's a ninja, and has lots of money. I think he might have been responsible for the hacks awhile back, but he won't say. Then again, he's probably to busy with hacking Instagram, who keeps tracking him despite his excellent IP Block, and his Jujitsu training.

Maybe you could try the design again? There's always a chance some dude will fall in love with a 3D :walrii: . Or if it actually turns out well, we could use it for Code Walrus Contest Participation awards! :P

Lol, such prizes would be cool actually, or maybe some mech, but if it became popular then it would be a chore to produce.

In any case I wonder what a 3D Walrii would look like. I know it would be blocky at first. :P (like those 3D pixel art things) like http://voxelbuilder.com/
