Title: A theme song made from random numbers (changed to make it tonal :P )
Post by: JWinslow23 on July 15, 2015, 02:46:10 AM
Click here to see a theme song for something I plan to do. (https://clyp.it/pycnklrr) It's for a series called "Glitch Busters".

This song was actually made by a TI-84+ calculator: I entered randInt(1,7) and kept pressing ENTER. The numbers it gave me corresponded to do, re, mi, fa, so, la, and ti on the solfege scale (basically, notes 1 through 7 on a key). I chose the key of the song and made some minor changes to the music so it didn't sound all discordant and random. I also added a measure-long end.

...so...yeah. I'll tell you when the first episode comes out, I guess.

Wow that is cool. I thought it was made with a computer. I assume that you exported the data on the computer into a music software?

That could almost be called Wacky Fun Random Muzik Generator v1.000069 :P

No, I copied the numbers by hand onto a sheet of paper, then put the notes into MuseScore and changed it a bit until it sounded musical, added an ending, and then added chords.

Ah ok. It would be cool to write a calculator random music generator that can import melodies andndrum sequences to softwares of your choice. The song sounded interrsting, by the way :)

I'm sure I got lucky. I had to change it a bit to make it melodic, mind you. But the melody I ended up with was oddly best-sounding in a minor key. Then I made the ending major. :P

You might have written a sentient music generator by accident O.O

That sounds really good (even though I don't listen to music very much :P)
