Keep Ya Head Up/Keep Your Head Up

Ever wondered how well two songs with the same title can work together? Well, here's my example with an MJ/Tupac remix.

Weird how well it works once you sync up the tracks. I only did this in about 10 minutes, so it's nothing special, but it's still listen-able. Tell me what you think!

I listened to it last night and I liked it, especially at the start. The only issue I noticed is that sometimes, during the last third of the song, the volume goes up and down. Could this be that the site you uploaded the song to or the software you used to mash the songs up applied a dynamic range compression filter on the audio, causing quieter parts to be normalized and sound louder?

All I did was boost the choruses of the instrumental. If there's anything else abnormal, then it shouldn't be me. No special filters were applied to the audio at all.

This is the instrumental:

This is the acapella:

No, this was just something I wanted to try in my free time. I'm not the best mixer anyways: it took forever to even get the tempos of these matched :P

Oh god, trust me, getting two songs in sync is a massive nightmare. Sure, there are tools like Sony ACID Music Studio that can do it for you, but it's still hard and I always found it better to use Audacity. It takes even longer to do such mashup than a brand new song sometimes.

The problem with non-electronic music played only with real instruments is that the band might not perfectly play at the same tempo during the entire song and just a 0.5 BPM difference can make it a chore to do any mashup, so inevitably you need to do some editing.

That said, I challenge you to make a song mashup without using any DJ/computer equipment  (I did before)
